Abrasive wheels training is designed for anyone who works with these industrial tools as part of their job. A wide range of manufacturing and finishing processes require the use of abrasive wheels, and it’s vital that workers know how to use and store them safely, as outlined by PUWER 1998 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations).

Following abrasive wheels training, delegates will understand the different types of wheels, how they can be used safely for everything from hand grinding to disc cutting, and the risks associated with their use.

The Four Storey abrasive wheels course is delivered via elearning, so it’s 100% online, making it easy and convenient to gain your certificate.

An abrasive wheel is a disc used with rotating power tools such as angle grinders and bench grinders to grind, cut, shape or finish materials. Abrasive wheels can be used at all stages of the manufacturing process, to make preliminary cuts or scores in industrial materials, or for fine polishing and other finishing techniques.

These tools comprise thousands of tiny abrasive grains that operate at high speeds to generate friction to wear away material.

There are no formal prerequisites, qualifications or experience required for taking my online abrasive wheels course. You just need to be working in a role that requires you to use this type of equipment.

The abrasive wheels online training course includes 100 minutes (1 hour, 40 minutes) of elearning content, plus a short multiple-choice test.

Abrasive wheels training from Four Storey Training costs £35 per delegate, which includes access to expert elearning content, plus digital and paper certification.

While abrasive wheels training doesn’t formally expire, it is best practice – and required by many employers – to refresh your training every three years to keep your safety-critical knowledge up to date.

My online abrasive wheels training is compatible with any device, so you can complete the course via a desktop computer, laptop or tablet, wherever you are, as long as you have a good internet connection.
