EUSR stands for Energy & Utility Skills Register, which is the industry body for training and skills in the UK’s utilities sector. Workers must be registered with the EUSR to gain site access, to demonstrate they have the knowledge and skills to keep their workplace and colleagues safe.
SHEA stands for Safety, Health & Environmental Awareness, and it’s a mandatory form of training for anyone working on operational sites in the UK utilities industry. SHEA training is designed to provide workers, contractors and site visitors with a sound understanding of their safety and environmental responsibilities when on-site. There are different types of SHEA training, including Core, Power, Water, Gas, Telecoms, and Drains and Sewers.
Before taking an EUSR SHEA Core Course, you must provide a form of government-issued photo ID, and possess a basic level of both written and spoken English. There are no other formal or academic requirements.
At Four Storey Training, the SHEA Core Course takes four hours to complete, running from 9am until 1pm.
The total cost of my online SHEA Core training is £135 (+VAT), which covers the cost of the online, tutor-led course, and your EUSR SHEA Core Card. There are no hidden admin fees when you choose Four Storey Training.
SHEA Core training remains valid for three years from the date of completion. As the three-year mark approaches, you must retake the SHEA Core Course to keep your training up to date and remain compliant. Without an in-date SHEA Core Card, you will be refused site access.
To renew your SHEA Core training, you will need to retake the course before your current card expires. If you need to replace a lost or damaged SHEA Core Card, this can be ordered from the EUSR directly. You will need your EUSR ID and will be required to pay a replacement fee.
SHEA Core Cards feature the CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) logo, and are classed as a CSCS Partner Card. This means anyone with an EUSR SHEA Core Card can access construction and utility sites without needing a separate CSCS Card.
In order to complete your SHEA Core training online with Four Storey Training, you’ll need access to Microsoft Teams via a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.
The course was well run and very productive. All participants were included through the online training and following assessment and 'passing' the card issued promptly. We will use Four Storey Training again for sure.
